Headquarters Niederbuchsiten, Switzerland   1499€00   1329€00 They are really expensive. If you like what you have, more power to you. This is a hobbyist sub, and as such, many of the posters here are after the greatest possible control over their brews, which is why you see “weirdos with thermometers and scales.” Those type of machines tend to take your agency away from you (and they’re expensive), so they’re not incredibly popular around here.
Jura ENA 8 Massive Aluminium (Smart connect inclus) Garantie 2 ans + 1 AN OFFERT ! My previous machine (for 10 years) was a semiprofessional ISOMAC — at about 30 times the price (and 15 times the weight…) of this one. I expected rather flimsy construction for just $100 and it definitely has that — the portafilter feels like a toy. What I did NOT expect is that it makes espresso almost as good as the best I got out of my fancy machine, and does it reliably shot after shot, with excellent crema. I’ve only had it a week, so an assessment of durability will have to wait another 6 months– but, hey, even if I have to buy a new one every year, it’ll 30 years before I spend as much as I would on a single new Isomac…
It goes without saying that a machine with as many features as this one offers is going to have a bit of a learning curve.  That’s unavoidable, but Jura really outdid themselves in terms of making the system easy to learn, navigate, and ultimately master.

Yeah, true. I should have considered the beans. We’ve got a roastery on the floor below us that provides us with beans, and the beans that I’ve used in our chemex from them are really good. I know we also get “espresso beans”, and I assume that those are what gets loaded into the Jura, but I’ve never been the one to load it, so I can’t really be sure

As others have said, try using the beans in another preparation method to compare, or just put other beans in the machine and see. Post on facebook wall Well, personally, I have a Jura, hasn’t failed me in over 10 years. Makes, imho, great coffee. I drink pretty much Illy only in the machine, maybe that’s part of it. I find the “capresso” as they call it great. I drink coffee made manually, I also find it great.
Anthony Parker Distribution Company Info Looking at the manufacturers of espresso coffee machine world wide, it’s clear that most brands are manufactured in Italy with USA brands representing the next biggest manufacturer. But they are not alone as the chart shows, although I could not find any Asian players in the market at this time.
If you really want to just have a no-fuss coffee system, go for pods. They’re the simplicity and lack of mess that you’re after, they just don’t have the pretence of being a real coffee machine.

Before the 1980s, offices that provided coffee had home percolators or just a kettle and a jar of instant. When the office coffee-supply industry (which has grown into a billion-dollar sector in North America) started in the early eighties, it generally supplied drip machines.

They grind, tamp, and dispense an espresso at the touch of a button. You don’t have to worry about fussing with your grinder to get the perfect consistency. You don’t have to worry about the water temperature. You don’t have to worry about how long the shot pulls for. All you have to do is add beans to it, add water to it, and empty out the waste bin – and most of the time the machine will tell you when it needs this! As I mentioned earlier, the Gaggia super-autos are pretty good and have decent reliability.
Selecting a Machine It’s not as severe as we’ve seen in some other models, but especially if you like your coffee strong, you’ll find that you have to refill the bean hopper more often than you like.
6 Comments I got a very good deal on it a couple of years ago. I’m fairly certain that when it dies I’ll switch to semi-auto, though I have grown very accustomed to the convenience so it’ll be tough switch!

If you ask Jura, they will claim that this is a revolutionary technology. If you ask any barista, they will tell you that this simply is a well-designed foam frother. In any case, the quality of the milk foam is fantastic.

I was about to buy a full automatic a couple of years back, but someone managed to turn my head with “its harder to clean” -argument. I have to say it in every review or post about the Oracle: you can change the dose. Remove the tamp fan with the included magnet tool. Unscrew the tamp height adjustment piece which was holding the tamp fan. Loosen the hex screw. Extend the tamp height about half a turn for every 0.5g. Tighten the hex screw, screw the height piece back in place and out the fan back. Don’t go too low though as the tamping mechanism has a higher likelihood of failing at low doses.
4.2 out of 5 stars 1,884 I think i am looking more at Gaggia classic. We have a specialty coffee store downtown (place smells amazing), they can grind the coffee as well. Is that a bad idea is it better to grind it at home?
To each their own. Given how coffee comes in various forms and may be brewed in differing ways, there is no one right method of making your cup. For a quick fix, sometimes instant coffee or using an automated machine like a Keurig is the way to go. Is it my preferred method? Not at all. Sometimes we have the time to slowly brew a nice cup of coffee. In this instance, its more of a hobby or a passion than just a simple cup of coffee. I am considering a thermometer and a scale but I currently just stick to a budget set up that is fairly simple and quick to brew a good cup of coffee. As for your large automated brewer: if you like the resulting cup then that’s great! But if you ever want to expand your horizons and try a new flavour/brewing style, this subreddit may be what you are looking for. Just my personal opinion but a Chemex glass has a certain style that automated machines just can’t replace. That’s just me though.
Portugal – Normanvi Advertise Your Products This device is easy use and performs very well. There are two parts of the frother. There is a Frothing Sleeve for cappuccinos and when the Frothing Sleeve is removed, it reveals the Steam Tube for lattes. Frothing: Frothing Sleeve is in place over the steam tube. Hot steam and air are injected into the milk. The air will swirl inside the milk creating silky dense froth on top of the milk, ideal for a cappuccino. Steaming only; Frothing Sleeve is removed to reveal the Steam Tube. Only hot steam will be injected into the milk. This is ideal for a latte. Important: To work properly, the Frothing Sleeve and Steam Tube need to be free of any milk deposits from earlier use.
Posted byu/unctuous_equine There a couple of different types of boilers you can find in semi-automatic machines and, depending on which you choose, it will impact whether you can brew and steam at the same time. Generally, smaller and less expensive machines will contain a single boiler. This helps keep the machine’s footprint small, but it also means that you won’t be able to brew your coffee and steam your milk at the same time. However, mid-range or higher end semi-autos will usually have a thermocoil, heat exchanger, single boiler with a thermoblock or a dual boiler. All these options, with the exception of the thermocoil, have a bigger boiler or even two boilers allowing you to brew and steam simultaneously.
EDIT: My comments below are probably more applicable to superautos that do not facilitate adjustment, facilitate limited adjustment or make adjustment very difficult. The feature set of superautos relative to adjustment is a major consideration.

Jura Impressa J9 One Touch TFT Automatic Cappuccino Machine Right To Your Door AmazonGlobal There are huge differences between brew groups found in superautos and an unpressurised portafilter, so you’re not really comparing apples to apples in the precision department. Of course grind consistency, tamp, and dose are going to need to be vastly more precise when the puck is the main source of pressure. But when it isn’t, they don’t.

I have 4 Jura’s… all 4 have done thousands of pulls each. The internals of the Oracle and Dual Boiler are the same, so the coffee you get from both would be similar. But the Oracle’s integrated grinder also tamps the coffee after grinding it, so no guess work about quantity, tamping strength, technique or any mess of coffee grinds all over the place, as it’s all self contained. It’s milk frother is also automatic, as it will inject air in the milk as it warms it to a preset temperature again, no guess work, just perfect foamed milk.
Grands contenants = Grande autonomie The Z6 features a top-loading 9.9-ounce bean hopper attached to a ceramic, conical burr grinder with six adjustment settings.  There are a few things to say on this topic, the first of which is the fact that there’s a bit of a size mismatch between the size of the water tank and the capacity of the bean hopper.

They make ok coffee thanks to the pressured baskets, but they are toys when compared to good espresso machines. (I owned a superautomatic for many years before getting real machine.)
Home & Kitchen Full disclosure: I pull my shots on a Rancilio Silvia PID’d (MeCoffee) and Vario. We have a small office (less than five users daily). Some people don’t care about espresso as much as they do about froth, hence the super.

What is the most capitalist country besides the US? it’s really the only machine in its class. It’s a semi-automated semi-automatic. It’s pretty much the perfect machine for me, since I want to tweak and play while my wife wants to press a button and have a coffee ready. Now I just have to teach her how to use it.
Total look Blanc The C65 allows you to program water volume beyond the factory settings to meet your specific requirements. It’s also very easy to adjust the strength of the coffee grind from 5 to 16 grams by using the rotary-style control located next to the bean hopper.
For maintenance, you may need to occasionally backflush a semi automatic, depending on the machine, and descaling applies to both. -worldnews
I can see i have a lot to learn and also that i have come to the right place to ask. I am not picky about the milk temperatures on super autos or the overall espresso quality – I am more than happy with the output with the Jura J6 which I have experienced so far. Price range is preferably around 2k max, but I would spring higher for something that is a truly solid machine.
Instead, our main concern was how well the wand incorporated air and steam into the mix for velvety, frothy texture. In our testing with our coffee expert, he pointed out that inferior steamer wands made giant air bubbles that quickly popped and only pumped air into the milk, without incorporating foam consistently throughout. So, we looked for a steamer wand that made consistent, well-incorporated foam.

Latte sorted by: Finally, if you want to get into ESE pods you’re in luck, since many semi-automatics accept them. You can purchase baskets that will allow pods to fit into pressurized and non-pressurized portafilters or can even find portafilters that are designed specifically for pods.
PPF machines don’t really allow a wider tolerance as much as they mitigate the abysmal results of poor puck consolidation common with insufficient grinders. The mitigation is so minimal as to serve mostly as a gimmick similar to the panarello wand usually included on PPF machines.

But I did get the Dual Boiler instead, as it was ‘automatic’ enough for me. The Dual Boiler will dispense pre-programed shots. Either based on time, or better yet, by volume. So if you want 60ml for 2 shots, you will always get 60ml.
